BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston came in third on a new list of U.S. cities with the best public transportation.
Travel magazine Travel + Leisure ranked nine cities, excluding New York City, that “are proving that getting around without a car can be practical, efficient, and even enjoyable.”
“Boston actually has a very useful public transportation system, called the MBTA, especially once you understand how to use it,” Boston-based travel advisor Natalie Kurtzman said in the blurb for Beantown. “The bus network reaches parts of the city that trains don’t, making it possible to get around without a car, while the T (the subway) is one of the easiest ways to move between neighborhoods or get to Cambridge and Somerville—especially when traffic builds during major events, graduation season, or construction.”…
