29 Arrested in April Jersey City Drug Takedown, Federal Prosecutors Said

Federal prosecutors announced in April that 29 members and associates of a Jersey City-based drug trafficking organization had been arrested on fentanyl and cocaine trafficking and firearms offenses. The charges were the result of a long-term wiretap investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, IRS Criminal Investigations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the New Jersey State Police and the Jersey City Police Department.

Charges were filed against 31 individuals in total — two more than were arrested — and include conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl and cocaine; possession with intent to distribute controlled substances; and possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon…
