BELLEROSE, Queens (PIX11) — A powerful line of storms swept through Queens Monday morning, bringing heavy rain and strong winds that uprooted a large tree in Bellerose, crushing two vehicles and damaging nearby property.
The tree fell at 10:14 a.m. along 86 Avenue at the access road for the Cross Island Parkway. Video from a home security camera recorded the fall.

“I was sitting at home working from home and actually looking out the window because I heard the storm,” resident Payal Mathur said.
