Unbelievable NYC moment as sanitation department finds heirloom rings in 20,000 lbs of garbage

Thanks to quick work by the New York Sanitation Department, one Brooklyn resident experienced an unbelievable city miracle – the heirloom rings she accidentally tossed in the trash were found at a sorting center within 10 minutes of her sounding the alarm.

Last Tuesday, a woman apparently accidentally threw out a vintage platinum diamond engagement ring that was a family heirloom passed through four different generations, along with a small gold promise ring.

After she realized what happened, she frantically ran outside and stopped two sanitation workers who happened to be on the street, asking them for help. They quickly contacted a supervisor at DSNY, sparking a quick rescue effort…
