(The Center Square) – Another foreign national has been indicted on terrorism charges in New York and is now facing justice after evading U.S. authorities for more than a decade.
Davud Ansariy, an Uzbekistan national who later became a naturalized U.S. citizen, was extradited to the Eastern District of New York on Sept. 23 from Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. He was arrested by that nation’s authorities in August in response to a request from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Known as “Kozimjon Gafurov” and “Kozim,” he was arraigned in federal court in Brooklyn on Thursday on an indictment charging him with material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) and Al-Nusrah Front (ANF). Both are U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations…
