A Newark man was convicted of murder and weapons offenses in the fatal 2024 shooting of a man in a wheelchair, Essex County prosecutors announced Tuesday.
A jury found 36-year-old Shaheed Hall guilty of murder, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose in the killing of 50-year-old Deshaun Winston, of Newark.
Prosecutors said Hall opened fire on Winston on April 28, 2024, while Winston was seated in his wheelchair and speaking with another man on Osborne Terrace. Winston was struck twice in the head and once in the neck and died from his injuries…
