Starting on Monday, Sept. 14, shuttle buses have now replaced the AirTrain at Newark Liberty International Airport Station during the week. Port Authority buses will transport people between the Newark Airport Station and the airport terminals from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on most weekdays as work proceeds on the AirTrain Newark Replacement Program, according to Lakewood Alerts.
The replacement program requires shutting down the rail link during weekday mornings and afternoons because work crews need access to tracks and equipment during these hours.
AirTrain service is expected to run as usual on weekends and will operate during select holidays and peak travel periods. NJ Transit trains will make regular scheduled stops at Newark Airport Station during the project…
