BRIDGEPORT — A New Jersey woman pleaded guilty to bank fraud Monday for attempting to deposit a stolen check worth more than $410,000 at a Connecticut credit union, federal prosecutors said.
Madisyn Pettaway, 31, of Newark, entered the plea during a hearing in federal court in Bridgeport, according to a news release Tuesday from U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Sullivan.
Sullivan said Pettaway tried to deposit a U.S. Treasury check in the amount of $410,085.48 on Sept. 13, 2024, after opening an account at Charter Oak Federal Credit Union using a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license…
