Newark Man, 38, Killed in Homicide: Prosecutor

Shortly after 11 p.m., Newark police responded to report of an assault on the 200 block of Cathedral Court, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Officers located Daniel Hass outside the location suffering from injuries, Stephens and Fragé said. Hass was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m., Stephens and Fragé said.

The cause and manner of his death are pending an autopsy, Stephens and Fragé said. The investigation is active and ongoing and no arrests have been made, Stephens and Fragé said.. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-847-7432.
