Missing N.J. woman left chilling note about her husband before she vanished without a trace

A New Jersey woman missing for a year and presumed dead left behind a note saying she was afraid of her husband, who police say later killed himself when he was about to be arrested for her murder.

Janaina Freire Goncalves, 47, was last seen on security video as she let her husband, Brendan R. Trivisonno, 38, into her apartment building on New Point Road in Elizabeth at 7:38 p.m. on March 10, 2025, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
