Shooter sentenced in 2024 killing of NYPD Det. Jonathan Diller

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – The man who fatally shot NYPD officer Jonathan Diller has been sentenced to 115 years to life in prison, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Guy Rivera, 36, was convicted in April of aggravated manslaughter and attempted murder.

“Jonathan Diller represented the very best of law enforcement: courage, commitment and service to community. He was a father, a husband and a son,” Katz said.

The shooting happened during a 2024 traffic stop. Rivera was a passenger in an SUV when the car was approached by Diller and another officer, Sergeant Sasha Rosen, prosecutors said. Rivera shot Diller in the stomach, then pointed the gun at Rosen, according to Katz…
