FedEx closing some Virginia locations in company overhaul

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – FedEx emailed some customers in Hampton Roads on Tuesday informing them that their nearby Ship Center would be permanently closing. The emails provided an alternate location for services.

10 On Your Side obtained emails showing that at least three FedEx Ship Centers will be impacted.

  • FedEx Ship Center at 2600 Ellsmere Avenue in Norfolkwill permanently close on Aug. 1, 2026. The email recommended customers drop off and pick up their eligible shipments at the FedEx Office location at 5824 Northampton Blvd. in Virginia Beach, or any nearby location. Those locations are about two and a half miles apart.
  • FedEx Ship Center at 2648 International Parkway in Virginia Beach will also permanently close on Aug. 1, 2026. The email recommended customers drop off and pick up your eligible shipments at the FedEx Office location at 3388 Princess Anne Rd. in Virginia Beach, or any nearby location. Those locations are more than four miles apart.
  • FedEx Ship Center at 2713 Magruder Boulevard in Hampton will transition to a FedEx Office on Aug. 3, 2026, according to an email sent to customers.
