NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The stronger-than-expected jobs report showing the U.S added 172,000 jobs in May comes with some not-so-good news about the Virginia economy.
Hundreds gathered in Newport News Friday to hear the mid-year economic forecast presented by the Virginia Peninsula Chamber. Economists from Old Dominion University’s Dragas Center, Dr. Robert M. McNab and Dr. Vinod Agarwal, presented a report suggesting the Commonwealth is entering a fragile period of anemic growth.
