NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Rian Wayne Johnson, an illegal alien from the Bahamas, was sentenced in Newport News to 27 years in prison on June 9 for sexually exploiting an 11-year-old child. Johnson, 38, was a primary caregiver for the victim.
Court documents revealed Johnson sexually exploited the child between May 30, 2025 and July 15, 2025. Newport News Police officers found Johnson with the 11-year-old victim when they responded to a report of suspected child sexual abuse on July 15, 2025, which led to his arrest.
An investigation revealed Johnson recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with the victim and kept these recordings on his cellphone.
