SUFFOLK, Va. — A possible fire at Western Tidewater Regional Jail on Wednesday prompted a response from the Suffolk Fire Department, officials said.
Firefighters found no open flames but located embers inside an air vent, where they were extinguished. Crews also ventilated smoke from the jail’s main hallway before leaving the facility.
