Nearly two dozen indicted by Northampton Grand Jury on drug, assault and other charges

Nearly two dozen people were indicted by a Northampton Grand Jury Monday on count ranging from malicious wounding to drug distribution and possession.

Thirty-six-year-old Justin Lewis Monts, of Highlands Boulevard in Virginia Beach, was indicted on counts of bringing a hallucinogenic drug and a veterinary anesthetic into Virginia to distribute. He is suspected of possession with intent to distribute seven pounds of hallucinogenic psilocin and 14 kilograms of Ketamine, an anesthetic.

According to court records, Monts was stopped by police on Lankford Highway in Cape Charles for failure to maintain his lane. After a canine unit offered an alert on the vehicle, the car was searched, and the narcotics were allegedly found in the driver’s luggage…
