Parents concerned over York County student device change

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — The York County School Division announced a big change to its student device policy in a recent Facebook post: students will use division-issued devices from now on. Previously, students brought their own devices, and some parents are concerned about this change.

“YCSD will provide all students in grades 3-12 with a division-issued device as part of the division’s 1:1 technology program. As shared on May 13, 2026, the division has eliminated the bring-your-own-devices program,” the York County School Division stated.
