Over the last 24 hours there were a few showers and storms popping up over the region.
I got a little rain at my house. I was happy to get it. There were a lot of areas that missed out though.
High temps were in the upper 80s in Norfolk with some 90s inland.
Today we have a cool front that has pushed a little more to our south. We’ll stay on the cooler side of it.
We’ll be about the same for temperatures this afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80s with some 90s inland.
However, we should dry out just a bit as the wind picks up out of the northeast. It will run at 8-12mph. Dew points will drop to the 60s for a brief time (which is great!) Keep in mind that the heat indices will still be in the mid-upper 90s though.
Tomorrow the front to the south will turn into a warm front and lift north. Meanwhile, the cool front to the northwest will be moving closer to the region from the northwest. This will sandwhich the fronts over our area. We’ll have increasing clouds with a few showers and storms in the afternoon.
Then a line of showers and storms will swipe through during the evening.
This line of storms could be strong to severe. There will at least be some heavy downpours. There may also be some strong/gusty winds and possibly some hail. Stay tuned for updates…
