PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – After Portsmouth resident Shawn Myers suffered a recent stroke, he was planning on selling an e-bike he owned to help cover medical bills. However, that changed when a man broke into his backyard on Aug. 6 and stole the bike worth upwards of $2,000.
Myers originally purchased the e-bike last Christmas as an early retirement gift for himself.
“I had from time to time suffered from vertigo and I had a big van at the time, and it was starting to concern me riding in that van,” said Myers, “so I went ahead and ordered it, got it, and I put it together. I was just enjoying it. It was great.”…
