100-acre brush fire burning in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. — A two-alarm brush fire is burning in Suffolk.

According to the city’s fire department, approximately 100 acres of land are on fire by Lummis Road and Copeland Road. The power substation is “threatened,” but it is not currently involved in fire, according to the fire department.

The fire is running under high-tension power lines, but there is currently no damage identified yet. The fire department is protecting other “critical infrastructure.”…
