HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Motorists could face up to 60-minute delays at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel on May 3 when the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to test the tide gates to ensure that tunnel facilities are prepared for severe weather.
The routine testing will occur overnight. Alternating lanes of traffic will be stopped between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
- 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., eastbound traffic stopped
- 3 a.m. to 4 a.m., westbound traffic stopped
