NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Ahead of Memorial Day weekend, the Newport News Police Department is increasing traffic enforcement patrol operations.
From Monday through Saturday, there will be heightened traffic patrols to combat driving infractions such as speeding. Police say the officers assigned to the operation are working in an overtime capacity and paid through a grant offered by the DMV.
