VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)– The Virginia Beach Police Department is cracking down on unpermitted “takeovers” ahead of the weekend.
Detectives are tracking accounts, posts and actively working to identify the account holders.
Police are asking the public to not respond to these social media posts and to not attend the gatherings as they could create safety risks and may result in enforcement action. Individuals who promote these gatherings could potentially be held liable costs for public safety response.
Police also remind parents and teens of the curfew law where any unaccompanied minors under the age of 17 are subject to citation/arrest between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m…
