Firefighters battle shed fire on Pinebrook Drive in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters battled a shed fire on Pinebrook Drive in Virginia Beach Monday afternoon, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

On April 13 at around 3:59 p.m., the department and EMS units were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 600 block of Pinebrook Drive. When Engine 18 and Battalion 3 arrived by 4:04 p.m., they saw a shed on fire in the backyard, with the fire spreading to fence lines that separate nearby properties.

Crews began an aggressive fire attack, containing the fire to the shed and the fencing. Crews marked the fire under control by 4:13 p.m., preventing it from spreading to the nearby residences. The fire was marked out at 4:18 p.m. The fire’s cause was determined to be unattended ashes from a fire pit that was used the night before, which had been discarded near the fence line.

No firefighters or civilians were injured due to the fire…
