Virginia Beach woman donates portion of liver to save toddler’s life

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia toddler is getting a second chance at life after a stranger stepped forward to donate part of her liver, saving the boy from a life-threatening illness.

Jenna Powell’s son, Rhett, was battling Alagille syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that had severely damaged his liver. At one point, Powell said she lived in constant fear that each day could be her son’s last.
