Amphib USS San Antonio Returns from Southern Command After More Than 8-month Deployment

NAVAL STATION NORFOLK, Va. — One third of the amphibious force that has patrolled U.S. Southern Command since late August returned Tuesday to its homeport of Norfolk, Va.

Amphibious warship USS San Antonio (LPD-17) moored at pier 9 at Naval Station Norfolk to a waiting crowd of families after 257 days.
