Vigil planned for Oakland coffee shop owner still missing after two months

(KRON) — A vigil is planned Monday for an Oakland coffee shop owner who has been missing for more than two months. Amy Hillyard, 52, disappeared virtually without a trace back on March 25.

According to her husband, she had a therapy appointment the day she disappeared. Sometime after she returned home, she vanished with her keys, purse, phone and wallet all left at the family home. The back door was also found open, although there was no note or any kind of explanation.

On Monday, members of a group dedicated to finding Hillyard are holding a “Vigil of Hope & Awareness for Amy Hillyard” at Mandana Plaza Park in Oakland. The vigil, the group said, is also in recognition of National Missing Persons Month and the hundreds of Bay Area individuals who go missing each year…
