(KRON) — The Oakland Police Department responded to a shooting near an elementary school on Thursday morning. According to OPD, the shooting occurred just after 10 a.m. in the 1600 block of 8th Street, near Prescott Elementary School.
68-year-old man arrested in SF homicide case
Officers arriving at the scene found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to an area hospital where police say she is listed in stable condition.
OPD said the Oakland Housing Authority is taking over the investigation.
