‘The Bay Area is Jollibee heaven.’ Cult fast-food favorite plots ambitious local expansion

As San Francisco still waits for its long-in-the-works downtown Jollibee location, the hyper-popular Filipino fast-food chain just announced plans to double its presence in Northern California.

The company has partnered with a franchisee to open 15 Northern California locations over the next eight years, where diners will be able to order its popular crispy fried chicken, Filipino-style sweet spaghetti and peach-mango pies, according to a company announcement on franchise restaurant news site 1851 Franchise.

A Jollibee spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the expansion, or about a planned opening date for the downtown San Francisco location…
