Another Bay Area Barnes and Noble is preparing to close its doors on the heels of the closure of the San Bruno store, which shuttered for good in May at the soon-to-be-razed Shops at Tanforan. But a handful of new openings are on the horizon for the bookstore chain.
The longtime Redwood City location at 1091 El Camino Real, which has been in operation for 33 years, is slated to close on September 16, an employee confirmed with SFGATE over the phone, adding that staff will be offered the chance to apply for jobs at nearby stores. The San Francisco Business Times first reported on the unexpected development.
