Surveillance video shows former Rep. Eric Swalwell being stopped by FBI at SFO

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Surveillance footage obtained by Nexstar’s KRON4 shows former Rep. Eric Swalwell being intercepted by FBI agents at San Francisco International Airport. Swalwell, a long-time Bay Area congressman and one-time California gubernatorial candidate, was stopped by FBI agents at SFO back on August 15.

Swalwell’s cellphone was seized at the airport, and a search warrant was served to him. Federal authorities also searched his home in Washington, D.C., where more electronic devices were seized.

The FBI enforcements are related to an ongoing sexual assault investigation into the former Democratic representative. Swalwell was considered a frontrunner in the race to succeed Gavin Newsom as governor when sexual assault allegations derailed his campaign.
