SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A large, unplanned power outage is impacting large parts of San Francisco Tuesday afternoon. According to the San Francisco Department of Emergency Services, the outage was impacting Hayes Valley, SoMa, the Mission and adjacent areas.
Angel Island prescribed burn comes amid Bay Area heat wave
Pacific Gas and Electric’s outage map indicated that roughly 3,269 customers are without power. The outage comes on the first day of a three-day heat wave that’s expected to smack the Bay Area with triple-digit temperatures inland and could see thermometers hit 90 degrees in San Francisco.
PG&E estimated that the power will be restored by 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. The cause of the outage, if known, was not made public…
