Oakland firefighters attack fast-moving blaze that threatened church

Fifty firefighters gained control of a blaze that broke out early Sunday at a sewing shop in West Oakland, authorities said.

Firefighters received a call about a blaze on the roof of a business at 670 Ninth St. around 8:40 a.m., said Frank Tijiboy, the battalion chief of the Oakland Fire Department.
