(KRON) — A Daly City mother who led police on a high-speed chase with her baby daughter and teenage niece in the car was sentenced Friday to 120 days in jail, according to prosecutors.
Estrella Paniagua, 26, pleaded no contest to felony charges of child endangerment and fleeing a pursuing officer and driving against traffic. In addition to jail time, Paniagua was sentenced to four years of probation and must complete a one-year parenting program.
The November 27, 2023, police pursuit began at Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo, where authorities said Paniagua was caught stealing $134.99 worth of cosmetics and clothing from Macy’s by concealing the items in the bottom of her baby’s stroller.
