Unlicensed Guatemalan arrested while driving in southern end of The Villages

A native of Guatemala who has been living in Florida for five years was arrested after he was caught driving without a license in the Village of Edenfield.

Gabriel Santos Ramirez Jacinto, 29, of Lady Lake, was driving a vehicle at 7:43 a.m. Tuesday near 6600 Caudill Trail in the southern area of The Villages when he was pulled over by a Wildwood police officer.

The officer initiated the traffic stop after a check of the vehicle’s license plate revealed that the registered owner did not have a valid Florida driver’s license and several individuals associated with the tag had outstanding warrants, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

Communicating through a translator app and broken English, Ramirez Jacinto admitted to police that he did not have a driver’s license and knew he should not be driving.
