A man has been arrested and charged after reportedly leaving a dog inside a hot car on Monday, then dumping its body behind a Marion County bar after it died.

Deputies responded to the Monitor Inn after receiving information that a dog had been left inside a truck for nearly 2 1/2 hours on June 14, between 11:20 a.m. and 2 p.m. During the investigation, surveillance footage captured a man identified as 32-year-old Daniel West disposing of the dog’s body behind the bar
