Plans for a new, 151-home neighborhood in southeast Ocala, which were first approved in 2024, are being reviewed by the Marion County Development Review Committee this week, showing a slightly revised layout and a new name for the property.
Formerly known as Juniper Loop and located at 8490 Juniper Road, directly north of Legacy Elementary School, the proposed Planned Unit Development (PUD) has been renamed to Heatherwood and spans 39.36 acres.
The property is situated less near the border of Ocala and Belleview, about a mile north of the intersection of U.S. Hwy 441 and SE 92nd Place Road, and just northwest of Baseline Golf Course.
