With one week remaining in the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” campaign, Marion County Animal Services is making a final push to place hundreds of homeless animals, with all adoption fees waived for cats and dogs through Monday, August 31.
A check of the county’s official animal database on Monday, August 24, revealed 214 dogs and 90 cats currently available for adoption, bringing the total count to 304 animals.
The overall figure remains relatively flat compared to August 17, when the facility housed 209 dogs and 93 cats (302 total), reflecting a continuous intake of animals even as adoptions take place.
