A drunk driving suspect has entered a plea after she allegedly took her luxury car on a destructive joyride through a championship golf course in The Villages.
Leslie Bowling Green, 69, of Lakeside Landings in Oxford, pleaded not guilty this week in Sumter County Court to charges of driving under the influence, driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a breath test. She remains free on $5,000 bond.
She was arrested Sept. 8 following the wild ride at the Cherry Hill Golf Course, which is part of the Palmer Legends Championship Golf Course.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies responded to the course at about 7:45 p.m. after a homeowner called 911 to report that a white 2026 Acura had driven off the roadway and onto the golf course, nearly striking her residence.
