Hundreds gather for ribbon cutting at newly expanded, 32,000-square-foot library in Ocala

Hundreds of residents and officials gathered in southwest Ocala on Monday morning to celebrate the grand opening of the newly expanded Freedom Public Library, which essentially quadrupled in size.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on April 13 at 10:30 a.m., marked the culmination of a project more than a decade in the making.

The expansion has nearly quadrupled the facility’s original footprint, growing from 8,100 square feet to approximately 32,000 square feet.
