Reckless driver going over 100 mph on I-75 stopped with smoking pipe in backpack

An Ocala woman was arrested after being stopped for going over 100 miles per hour on Interstate 75 with marijuana paraphernalia in her backpack.

A deputy observed a 21-year-old Kieley Justine Salazar driving a dark Kia K4 northbound on I-75 in Wildwood around 6:40 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She passed other vehicles while traveling in the right lane, which she did multiple times. Her vehicle’s tag was also covered with a black bag.

The deputy then checked her speed, learning she was going 108 mph in a 70-mph zone. Due to this, he stopped her on the left-hand shoulder of the interstate. He later checked the vehicle’s tag and saw it was a dealer tag from Jenkins Kia of Gainesville displayed backward. A check of the VIN showed no records, the report said.

A subsequent inventory of the vehicle yielded a black bag within a floral backpack. It contained a marijuana smoking pipe, a marijuana grinder and a small black jar with trace amounts of marijuana, the report said…
