Wildwood woman caught with fentanyl in her purse after running stop sign

A Wildwood woman with fentanyl in her purse was arrested after running a stop sign.

An officer on patrol saw a Honda CRV run a stop sign at the intersection of Morin Street and West Stevens Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Friday, April 17, according to an arrest report from the Eustis Police Department. After being pulled over, the driver, 35-year-old Markina Jenea Stewart, apologized and did not deny what she had done.

When asked for her license, she stated she did not have one, nor had she ever gotten one. The passenger, who was later determined to be the registered owner of the vehicle, handed over her license instead. Stewart advised that she was driving because the passenger did not feel well enough to do so, the report said.
