A man with a criminal history was arrested with drugs on the Historic Side of The Villages.
William Machuca Jr., 47, of Fruitland Park, was riding a bicycle at about 1 a.m. Saturday in the area of Dustin Drive and Devon Drive in the Village of Silver Lake when an officer initiated a traffic stop because the bicycle did not have proper lights for night riding, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The officer learned that Machuca was wanted on a Sumter County warrant charging him with a probation violation.
The officer also found that Machuca had 1.28 grams of methamphetamine in a small bag in his right front pocket. He was arrested on a charge of drug possession and due to the probation violation, he was booked without bond at the Lake County Jail…
