A Belleview man was arrested after being stopped with a license suspended for unpaid child support and a traffic citation.
Xavier Ezequiel Cruz-Alicea, 40, was driving a silver BMW just north of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Lakeview Street around 10 a..m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
An officer determined he was traveling 69 mph in a 40-mph zone, leading to a traffic stop. He did not have his driver’s license when asked and advised that it had been suspended for unpaid child support. A check of his driving history determined he actually had three current suspensions, two for child support and one for an unpaid traffic citation, the report said.
Additionally, he had three prior guilty convictions for driving while license suspended on Nov. 30, 2008, Jan. 14, 2012, and May 27, 2024, the report said…
