OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Dance Divine School of Ballet presents the story of the prophet Daniel as told through ballet in “Daniel: The Most High Rules” during multiple performances this weekend. The production featured two shows on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with a matinee at 2 p.m. and another performance at 7 p.m. Both performances took place at the College of Central Florida’s Dassance Fine Arts Center, 3001 SW College Rd. in Ocala.
The performance follows the biblical tale of the prophet, Daniel in two acts. Act I begins with King Nebuchadnezzar conquering Jerusalem in 586 BC before introducing Daniel along with Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. Due to their commitment to God, Daniel was gifted the ability to interpret dreams and visions while the other three were saved from the fiery furnace.
Following the events of the first act, Act II showcases Daniel reading the prophecy of the fall of the Babylonian kingdom on a wall. On that same night, the kingdom fell and Daniel was promoted under King, Darius, and ordered to test his commitment to God by praying in a lion’s den before being rescued.
