Police pursuit begins in Moore, ends in deadly officer-involved shooting in Norman

MOORE, Okla. (KFOR) — A pursuit that began in Moore as an attempted traffic stop ended Wednesday morning in an officer-involved shooting in Norman.

According to the Moore Police Department, the incident began at around 9:10 a.m. when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 300 block of Northwest 27th Street. The driver failed to stop and fled the area, prompting a pursuit.

The suspect continued southbound on Interstate 35 before exiting at Flood Avenue and traveling westbound on Tecumseh Road. During the pursuit, officers performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), which forced the suspect vehicle to leave the roadway.
