Last summer, the Oklahoma Sooners had just one wide receiver committed to their 2026 recruiting class. Now, nearly a year later, Brent Venables & Co. are stuck in that same spot again in the blink of an eye.
First on Saturday, four-star wide receiver Demare Dezeurn decommitted from the Sooners with a commitment to in-state Cal looming. Then, just a few hours later, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that three-star receiver Tra’Von Hall flipped from OU to Ole Miss. Both prospects made their decisions while on official visits to other schools this weekend.
The day of two recruiting blows at the same position leaves three-star Greydon Howell, from Broken Bow High School in Oklahoma, as the only receiver left at the moment in the Sooners’ 2027 class. That will force general manager Jim Nagy back to the drawing board, but what he managed to pull off last year should ease the worry of OU fans.
