Piedmont, Yukon, OKC residents shares data center concerns

PIEDMONT, Okla. – Around 20 people gathered at Dodge City Paintball on Saturday night near Piedmont to discuss growing concerns about data center projects in the area.

Residents from Piedmont, Yukon and Oklahoma City gathered to discuss how proposed data centers could impact their communities.

People voiced a variety of concerns ranging from water usage to impacts on livestock and agriculture.

“We’re a largely agriculture community and we heavily depend on that industry,” Chelsea Bingham said. “A lot of that is going to be heavily impacted with all this pollution and noise that they’re wanting to bring into our backyards.”
