Oklahoma’s 3 most beloved restaurants that closed recently

The loss of these local and regional favorites comes shortly after On The Border closed all its Oklahoma restaurants. The latest goodbyes include two longtime Oklahoma City gathering places and a popular Broken Arrow barbecue restaurant.

Opus Prime Steakhouse in Oklahoma City

Opus Prime Steakhouse closed June 28, 2026, after nearly 19 years in northwest Oklahoma City.

Owner Bill Wilson opened the restaurant in November 2007 after previously operating Nikz in Founders Tower. Opus brought an expansive wine collection, private dining rooms and traditional white-tablecloth steakhouse service to Memorial Road.

Customers visited for prime steaks, seafood, business dinners and celebrations. The glass-enclosed wine room and more formal atmosphere helped make Opus a destination rather than an ordinary neighborhood restaurant…
