14-year-old forced to drive after Nebraska man nodded off behind wheel, police say

CASS COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) — A Nebraska man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a July 2025 incident in which he allegedly drove while intoxicated and a 14-year-old family member took the wheel, crashing the vehicle.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 44-year-old Kenny Adkins on a felony child abuse warrant issued May 21. He is charged with intentional child abuse resulting in no injury.
